Naturalisation Costs

Adult:

  • Application Cost: £1,330 (consisting of £1,250 for application + £80 citizenship ceremony).
  • Life in UK Test: £50.
  • English language test: £150 on average.

Child:

  • Application Cost: £1,012.

If you are unable to afford the cost for the child, you are applying for it is possible to get a ‘fee waiver’. To be eligible for this you will need to provide documents below to show that you are unable to pay for the application cost and necessities, such as food and rent:

  • Tenancy agreement.
  • Bank statements.
  • Pay slips.
  • Utility bills.

Those applying for British citizenship by naturalisation will also have to pay for their biometrics to be taken which is £19.20.

British Oversees Territory Citizen:

  • £1,000.

Registration Costs

Adult:

  • Application cost: £1,126 (including £80 citizenship ceremony).

Child:

  • Application cost: £1,012.

British Oversees Territory Adult:

  • Application cost: £901.

British Oversees Territory Child:

  • Application cost: £810.

Renunciation Costs

To renounce or give up ones British citizenship it will cost £372.
